Gertie Kate
Veritas Academy is a fully accredited, non-denominational, PreS-12 school in southwest Austin partnering with Christian families to provide for their children a classical education founded upon a Biblical worldview.
Gertie Kate is a student at Veritas Academy and will graduate May 2024. She plans to pursue her collegiate interests in Architecture and NCAA swimming.

Austin Swim Club (ASC) is a USA Swimming certified year round competitive swim team. Founded in September of 2013 by Kevin and Patti Thompson, ASC is a USA Swimming Level 1 Gold Medal Club 2019.
Gertie Kate has been swimming with the ASC team since June 2016 when she transferred from Longhorn Aquatics (Sept 2012 - June 2016).

Colin’s Hope Athlete Ambassadors participate in walks, marathons, triathlons, swims and just about every other activity you can think of around the country in the name of drowning prevention.
Gertie Kate has been honored to be a part of the Colin's Hope water safety mission since July 2013. She earned her title as the youngest Colin's Hope Athlete Ambassador in June 2018.

MEMORABLE first Swim Meet
Gertie Kate's first USA Swimming meet was memorable. Thankfully the camera was rolling and captured it for years of entertainment. On November 5, 2012 at the University of Texas, Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swim Center, for the 50 yard Freestyle, Gertie Kate topples into the water but gets to reset and then at the whistle, takes off first in the water and swims a blazing :54.49. Great job Gertie Kate!
